Israelis head to the polls today for the first nationwide election since the Hamas-led attacks of Oct. 7, 2023, the deadliest day in the country’s history.

Election officials in Israel say early turnout in the first general election since the Hamas attacks three years ago is the highest for more than half a century.

Netanyahu called on his supporters to come out and vote, pointing to the strong turnout by Arab voters which is likely to hurt him.
